Most everything in our 1950's home is original to when it was first built. Our upstairs bathroom is no exception, it is an interesting concept with every.single.thing.in.it. being BLUE (Our neighbors have the pink version in their home. :-)
This color concept alone is why if I ever get the chance to re-do our upstairs bathroom, (no matter what year it is) I may just make it completely WHITE!
When we transitioned to a bigger family our showering supplies seemed unending, actually even before we had transitioned it seemed unending (can you relate?)! We now have mommy's shampoo, mommy's conditioner, regular shampoo, regular conditioner, baby shampoo, body wash, shampoo for textured hair and conditioner for textured hair.
Yikes! How were we going to fit all of those bottles on those small bathtub corners? Not to mention the fact that little kids in bathtubs mean that they pull every container (on those corners) right into the bathtub with them!
The Solution: We now have a kid's cleaning station and we love it!
You can easily find various versions of this at home improvement stores or Amazon. I installed the container low and near the faucet so that it could easily be accessed when I was kneeling to bathe the kids. Since we are always supervising the kids when they are in the water, we haven't had any brave souls try to play with the buttons. :-) It was very easy to install and is super easy to refill. This particular version, you can just pop the top off and add more liquid. It also makes bathing multiple kids at a time a snap...no need to open and close all of those bottles in between kids.
It also came with a bunch of pre-made stickers that I could select and apply. Three less bottles in the bathtub area means greater ease at bath time and a simpler shower area for all!

Hahaha no brave soul
ReplyDeleteThat pink bathroom your neighbors have will be turning into a white and stone bathroom in the near(?) future. Ughhhh.... I think we need this for the kids. Our bottles that sit on the side of the bathtub get dunked in the tub too often and fill-tops turn to end up with way too much in little hands. Good solution!
ReplyDeleteMelissa,
DeleteHow exciting about the possible {near future} bathroom changes! :-)

Oh I LOVE this idea, it will also help with my shampoo hoarding. I wish they would sell the correct ratio of shampoo to conditioner!

You are so right about the ratios always being off. This unit is super easy to fill by lifting the top so it hasn't been bad at all.
