The first day of school came and went and I became extremely motivated to not only switch up the mantle for fall (I will be sharing that with you next week!), but also to create a designated space for doing homework.
The living room got a fresh furniture layout (did you used to rearrange your bedroom a million times too?) and the vintage desk that I scored for less than $5 at a thrift store is coming in mighty handy. The inside stores all of our second grader's books (I have another second grader...crazy!)
I'm still thinking of painting the desk before winter and thinking of going with white...any thoughts?
Pencils that usually would have been stored higher (due to our youngest roaming the grounds) are now ready to go. Thankfully our youngest son is learning what he isn't suppose to touch and the risk of him grabbing these is smaller than the benefit of them being easily accessed by those that do use them.
With two kids in school we have enough slots to stick papers that come home.
I even sharpened one pencil (sorry, that was an Instagram inside joke ;-)
Those may also be some new curtains that I need to hem and paint some DIY stripes on (stripes are finally in the near foreseeable future!)
It is amazing how having a few practical items on hand and ready can make homework time that much more manageable.
Are your kids back in school yet? What are you looking forward to the most once school starts?
