When it comes to storing and organizing jewelry, I have a case that has been with me for a while now. It holds pictures on the outside and opens up to store all kinds of jewelry on the inside.
Shortly after I started using it the bracelet hanger broke (it used to be above those rings on the bottom left.) I found a different jewelry tree that I keep on my dresser for my bracelets.
I love opening up this case in the morning and picking out a pair of earrings to wear. Most winter days I'll even coordinate by picking out a scarf too.
The only problem that I have found is that over time I continue to lose more and more backings to my earrings. Does that ever happen to you? For years now I will go to grab a pair of earrings and there won't be any backings on them so I have to grab another pair and pull the backings off and then re-hang the earrings and on and on.
There has to be a better way, right?
I decided to store the backings separately...in a little dish maybe. Things would be simple and don't we all love simple?
I just might have also had a hair clip that would look darling sitting on top of this little dish. Then I could have a place to store the hair clip and it kind of looks like a miniature flower floating in a cute vase.
Of course it was after I had this idea that I decided to look up how much more earring backings cost. Wouldn't you know that you can buy a pack of 144 for $.84 cents on Amazon. Sigh, but then I convinced myself that the earrings hang better without the backings on anyway and that this option cost me $0.00 so that was the better choice.
Who would have known that bracelets, succulents and a flower hair clip over earring backings were just the thing to make this dresser top useful and cute at the same time.
In another year I am sure I will have lost all of my earring backings. I'm glad I know where to buy some more for a good price. :-)
How do you store your jewelry? Do you use a stand, a drawer, a case, a bag...so many options, right?
