Our Trip To Seattle & A Giveaway!

We are back from our trip to Seattle and Canada and we had a great time! There is something so refreshing and rejuvenating about taking time away from the norm.

It is so neat to sleep in and enjoy some meals...just the two of us. No one spilling anything at meal times...except mom. True story: I totally spilled a glass of water while we were out eating with friends. It made me laugh as I shook my head in disbelief! :-)

Most of our time was spent in Canada...seriously...so beautiful! Prior to that we spent a few days exploring the city of Seattle for the very first time.

On Wednesday I will be revealing some blog layout edits that I worked on while we were gone. On Friday I'll share with you a restaurant in Seattle that we really enjoyed (it felt like a covert mission and like I was a secret, big time food critic...only I'm not and we still paid full price...BUT they were happy to let me take some photos! :-) Then on Monday I'll round things out with a post called "9 Things I've Learned After 9 Years of Marriage"

It is going to be a great week!

While in Seattle we were able to squeeze in a few coffee shops, a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, a walk around the bottom of the space needle, a trip up the hill for a gorgeous night view of the city and finally Pike Place Market home of flying fish, gorgeous flower bouquets, and the VERY FIRST STARBUCKS.

If I had a bucket list then I would certainly be saying, "CHECK" right now!

We've been told that there is always a line but there is also usually great live music to listen to and just watching all of the people stop and try to take photos with cars driving by the street out front was incredibly amusing! It was all enough to make me willing to stand in line which actually ended up going pretty fast.

They even had a chalkboard...what a brilliant idea! ;-)

We had a grand ol' time in Seattle!

exploring Seattle

I brought back a souvenir for the coffee bar and I wish I could have shared the love with each and every one of you! Needless to say, that wasn't possible but it WAS possible for me to purchase one mug and a $5 gift card (with the special "First Store" cover) to give away to one lucky reader!

Cuz you guys are simply awesome!

It even came all the way home with me safely stowed in my carry on. :-)

Check out a few ways that you can enter to win below and I'll announce the winner on November 2nd.

May the odds be ever in your favor ;-)

  5. Just got back from my first trip to Seattle last Monday! I wasn't patient enough to wait in the line. My favorite drinks are the Pumpkin Spice Latte when it's cold and the Very Berry Hibiscus Cooler when it's hot. And being from Texas, it's almost always hot here so I drink it a lot!

  6. Love this! We didn't visit the Starbucks when we were there...but we also had two small children with us at the time. Don't think they would have enjoyed that!

  7. Flying fish always reminds me of Free Willy when Jesse goes down to the market and ends up eating stolen cake dipped in ketchup. Yikes. Needless to say your trip sounds like it was delightful=)
