DIY Washi Tape Clothes Peg Push Pins

Happy Wednesday ya'll! Our crew is currently on a little family vacation having some indoor water park fun and watching LOTS of movies (aka the only way that mom & dad get to really relax too.) :-) It has been a special week for our family as we not only got to sneak away for some quality time together but also celebrated two years together as a crew of seven!

Today it is my pleasure to introduce ya'll to Krista. I have been following her projects & inspiring home decor ideas for months now. You have to stop by and check out her home tour...the color combinations that she uses are cheery & delightful and just downright stunning. She is here today to share a DIY idea on how you can create some adorable custom pins that will leave your memorable pieces fully intact. One of the things that I love most about Krista's blog is the phrase that she says at the end of every post about HOME. ..you'll have to read to the end to check it out (p.s. I totally agree.) Enjoy!

Hi everyone!!! It is Krista from The Happy Housie here today to share an easy craft that will help you stay organized this year: DIY Washi Tape Clothes Peg Push Pins.

Thank you so much to Sarah for having me over at An Inviting Home today. As I said, I spend most of my bloggy time over at The Happy Housie . I called my blog this because I think of myself as a "housie"; someone whose passion and hobby is house related pursuits like decorating, crafting, organizing, and DIY projects. And it is one of those projects that I am here to share with you today...

Do you have an insane amount of paperwork, photos, cards, invitations, and special artwork coming into your home on a daily basis? I like to pin up the most special pieces on a bulletin board in our kitchen...but sometimes I don't want to put pin holes through those special pieces. So I crafted up these easy DIY Washi Tape Clothes Peg Push Pins so that I could keep our important papers organized without damaging them by putting holes in them!

For this project you will need:

Clothes Peg Push Pins supplies needed by The Happy Housi

  • Clothes Pegs
  • Flat Headed Push Pins
  • Glue (I used a strong glue called Quick Grip)
  • Paint and Paint Brush
  • Washi Tape

These are a quick and easy project to make. I decided to take my clothes pegs apart to paint them so as to not get paint on the metal clip portion but you could just as easily leave them together to paint.

Once dry, put the clothes pegs back together and then attach the washi tape to the front side of it.

Next, simply glue the push pins to the back of the clothes pegs. I chose to attach them at the top and bottom so that they would attach securely to the bulletin board. I used the Quick Grip glue that is pictured in my materials picture above, but you could also use E6000 or Gorilla Glue, among others.

These cute little push pins add such a fun touch to a bulletin board and allow you to avoid damaging your important papers and keepsakes by putting holes through them.
