A Space She Truly Loves!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! To me Valentines Day is the day that growing up I always wished that I had someone to give me a dozen roses and then once I did have someone (and we got married and shared the same budget) suddenly there was NO desire for my husband to spend DOUBLE on roses on the 14th.

Flowers in June would be lovely...

Today I want to show you a space that I first saw on Facebook that had me gazing and grinning from ear to ear for at least five minutes while my kids were assuming that I had gone to get them a snack.

Julie is a friend who works and lives in D.C. She is originally from the south and sweeter than even the world's best sweet tea! Her office recently moved buildings and she quickly turned her new office into a functional space that is down right beautiful.

My favorite part about the whole room was seeing that she had picked everything out based on what makes her heart come alive...beaches with turquoise waters, pictures of the people and places she loves, books that have changed her life and a plethora of memories from the people that she has worked with.

Since she no longer lives near the beach she wanted to bring the beach to her!

About the photo below, she said, "I want to go to wherever that place is on the cover - adding that to my bucket list now…and C.S. Lewis changed my life in college when I studied abroad in England!"

Her place of inspiration for the room came from these photos of Trunk Bay in St. Thomas. Julie was able to visit those beaches last summer and seeing it in her office each day definitely inspires her.

She also loves books!

Not only did I completely fall for this space (I mean look at all of that turquoise!) but what I absolutely loved most about it was that Julie filled it with HER favorite things and it describes her to a T.

Really when it comes to decorating any space I think that it should be all about...
