An Adoption Story: Michael & Emily

Do you guys remember Michael & Emily?

michael and emily

We first heard about their story here when Emily shared about decorating her mantel and their journey in taking a somewhat non-traditional route to adopt.

Here is a small glimpse of the end of that post to see what Emily wrote back in January of this year...

"We haven’t exactly taken the traditional route. We are home study approved and have a great lawyer but we’re functioning as our own adoption agency. We've put the word out through social media, craigslist, created a free website on Wordpress: http://eandmadopting.wordpress.comI’ve tacked business cards to boards at the post office and in the grocery store.

In short, we’re experimenting.

I’m not sure how this kiddo is going to find us but when they do, it’s going to be a good story."

Well today, four months later, I am absolutely thrilled to share this news with you...just a few weeks ago Emily shared this picture with friends and family!

They are adoption expectant!

Not too long after that (and four weeks early) baby Levi arrived on 5-29-14!

Emily's sister shared, "Levi is incredibly precious and in Emily’s words “He is kind of amazing. We just love him”. Due to his premature arrival he is still being looked after in the hospital nursery but is healthy and thriving. Mom and Dad are happy and tired, as is expected for new parents."

Emily said, "Baby is stable and well at the NICU. We wanted to quickly pause and say thank you to the many friends/family who have supported us. Blessed beyond belief. My goal for today is to spend 10 minutes with my baby without crying, there have been a lot of (happy) crying around here."

Michael and Emily were able to travel to where their son was born and be there for the delivery. They are soaking up every moment of this new adventure! I'll be sure to update you on Michael & Emily's story as is continues to unfold. If you are in a waiting encouraged today friends. There is hope!
