A Nail Polish Tote

Years ago I attended a thirty-one party and brought home a little organizing gem to store nail polish in. You see, the girls and I have a favorite past time. Painting your nails can be considered a past time, right? ;-)

I must add that there is something about having your own tote that says, "nail polish" on it that makes the whole experience even more spectacular.

This tote is a great size for storing a variety of nail polish at the bottom and then having room on top to throw other essentials in. I recently added a small baggie filled with cotton balls and q-tips to make removing nail polish a snap.

Everything is together in one little tote and can easily be taken from room to room.

I also like this particular size tote because it limits the amount of nail polishes that we keep on hand. There are still a lot of choices to choose from but not too many that they dry out or don't get used.

Although we do have our favorites...

I'm not a thirty-one consultant. I just like the bag and have been really happy with how it has held up so well. That is why I thought I would pass along the info to you. This would make a darling gift for a teenager or friend and you could even fill it with a few fun new nail polishes...oh the possibilities.

How do you store or organize your nail polish? Do you have a go to color that you are always drawn to when painting your nails? Mine is classic red. :-)

  1. That is a cute tote! (and I like your stash of washi tape as well!)

I used to have a plastic shoe box I tossed all my nail polishes in but recently dumped them all out and selected only the ones I love and was able to fit them all (along with a nail file, nail clippers and polish remover) into a small "train case" cosmetic bag. My go to color is a deep wine color that is my version of red, but some other favorites are a deep navy blue that I have on today, a deep magenta, and a teal (what I like to call a deep sky blue color). I keep my nails short so the color really provides a pop of color. I feel somewhat naked when my nails are bare.

    1. Sunny,

I love your color choices...now I want to try a deep navy! :-)

  2. That is a cute tote. I keep our nail polish in an old plastic baby wipe box. That way the lid stays on. I keep all the polish, qtips, cotton balls, etc. in their. That way I know when Rebecca (age 7) wants to do her nails, I have to get the box and she can keep her little brothers out of it. As for colors---I typically don't paint my fingernails, but I do keep my toes painted---I have been alternating between purple, orange and a sparkly green (almost like a wicked witch color).

    1. Rachel,

Great idea to use a wipe box!

  3. My favourite nail polish is Opi's 'Not Really a Waitress'. This tote is a great idea! My daughter has all her nail polish in a drawer in the bathroom but inevitably leaves bottles and stuff downstairs after she does her nails. A tote she can carry around is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?? :)

    1. Catherine,

I think that is why I like it so much...because of being able to tote it from room to room. I just have to remind myself not to do my nails on our bed. Parts of my white bedspread are now a shade of magenta because a bottle tipped over...oops.
