The Marie Kondo & Minimalist Living Effect On My Closet

So I read this book last summer.

And this article.

And then I saw this picture a few days ago.

My closet was in this state.

And finally...it all just got to me.

So this happened.

Which resulted in this.

And after removing these from my bedroom.

I was then left with this.

And the best part was...I felt like I could breathe again.

Like really BREATHE!

Turns out life is simpler and cleaner with less choices...not more.

  1. I recently did a fairly thorough clear out of my closet as well - it's great to not only have so many clothes in it, but also to be able to know that everything in there is something I would wear!
When I put away my clothes from the laundry, I just hang up all of my shirts in the order they come out of the dryer, and most days I'm able to just pull the first shirt off a hanger and it's precisely what I wanted to wear that day! It's a fantastic feeling!

    1. Jessica,

I love that idea to put the clothes away in order and then cycle through all of them...great system! :-)

  3. Similar experience with clothes. Not only is it easier to get dressed in the morning I'm always wearing my favorite things. Receiving more compliments even though I have a smaller wardrobe. No more blah so-so clothes, only the favorites which fit well and feel great. Simpler to clean up, simpler to get dressed and look fabulous.
